What do we charge for school/college visits?

For the 2006-7 academic year, the fee is £175 for one workshop leader with travel expenses (35p per mile - this works out at around £270 for visits as far north as Peterborough and Coventry and as far south as London).

If you require two workshop leaders, the fee is £245 for two workshop leaders.

 

How many students can participate in our workshops?

One workshop leader will be able to run a workshop for up to 90 students, with the assistance of at least two teaching staff members; for numbers above this, please contact us.

We do work outside these areas for some projects however - please don't hesitate to contact us!

 

What do our visits involve?

Our workshops are a combination of talks and hands-on activities. We will supply worksheets and other resources to be used on the day and before or after our visit.

 

What subjects do we cover?

Anything you like! On a typical school visit however we discuss: Textiles and clothes, games and leisure, Roman religion and beliefs, the Roman army and the study of artefacts.

We are more than happy to change our timetable however - subjects such as Latin, writing and literature, Roman food, the end of the Roman Empire and beyond, childhood and the founding of the Roman Republic are also available!
